Position Responsibilities:

The Associate Brand Manager will help develop brand and product strategies, and create marketing programs that drive growth. This person will lead key advertising and promotion program development and execution in-market, driving integration across various elements of the marketing toolkit, including online marketing, PR, and retail/trade marketing programs. The Associate Brand Manager will also be responsible for all packaging strategy and for bringing the brand to market with a single face and identity. In addition, this person will manage new product projects, from consumer insight and ideation through execution in market with supporting trial generation programs. Must be a leader, taking accountabililty for program results and brand performance metrics as a whole, as well as being a passionate advocate of the consumer.


RESPONSIBILITIES: Drive sales and profitability growth for the firelog product line.
  • Manage business reporting, including monthly dashboards, competitor/marketplace analyses, and ROI analyses for programs.
  • Manage brand marketing budget, delivering year-end spending and ROI goals.
  • Take leadership role in demand forecasting team, translating marketing activities and category conditions into clear direction for Sales and Supply Chain team members.
  • Develop new ideas and improvements that can improve margin and profitability.
Bring brand equity vision to life in the marketplace.
  • Collaborate with VP/GM and others on positioning development, and help drive into all marketing communications.
  • Lead all packaging development and execution, improving consumer appeal, shelf presence and sustainability.
  • Lead development of new claims for existing and new products that achieve meaningful differentiation versus competition.
  • Lead development of new website and online marketing strategy, in line with Brand trial and loyalty objectives.
  • Lead consumer promotion ideation, planning and execution -- both on national and regional scale.
  • Coordinate national promotions with grassroots and online efforts to ensure maximum synergy.
Collaborate with Sales and Trade Marketing organizations to achieve strong retail programs and customer delight.
  • Participate in forecasting and planning activities to ensure customer service and OTD goals are met.
  • Use consumer and market research to develop insights leading to retail promotion strategies for growth.
  • Develop strong in-store programs, including shelf planograms and displays, to drive growth.
  • Translate consumer promotion events into retail promotions that deliver merchandising growth.
  • Coordinate with Trade Marketing in/out product offerings as appropriate for customer- specific promotions.
  • Develop collateral materials, product samples, sell-in presentations to support Sales meetings and Field.

Position Experience: * Experience
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related discipline and three to five years' prior marketing experience, preferably in the consumer packaged goods industry. MBA is preferred. Experience with syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen), category management tools, and shipment data (such as in SAP) a strong plus. Comprehensive knowledge of administrative and management functions such as planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and controlling.

  • Proven track record in marketing program execution, especially consumer / trade promotion and online marketing (preferably in consumer packaged goods categories).

  • Ability to utilize various personal computer programs within a LAN environment, including spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and database software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, as well as to analyze problems and make independent judgments to initiate corrective action and resolution.

  • Proficiency in financial analyses.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
  • Strong task and detail orientation, awareness of urgency in communication, while displaying diplomacy in day-to-day interactions.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Must also develop and deliver high-impact presentations at Senior Management level.
