Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for bringing in new business from pharmaceutical market leaders. Those who excel tend to be comfortable uncovering opportunities and continuously promoting their benefits in the hopes of uncovering a match. The position focuses almost exclusively on the conversion process. This type of position is used to develop a presence in a competitive stronghold or to expand sales coverage beyond the firms current customer base. The VP tends to be very opportunistic and looks for novel ways to apply solutions.
Almost exclusively sells to new customers or dormant existing relationships
Rain-maker for new product introduction
Sales cycle is typically 3-5 months or less, but can extend to 6 months for complex deals
Typical decision maker: Financial decision maker such as CMO,VP Of Marketing, brand leader, and regional executive management
Essential Functions:
Originate deals with new brands/new companys.
Display Pharma and regional marketing expertise
Complete needs assessment, linking customer business problems with solutions and present solutions to fit client business need
Identify, organize and focus resources required to affect strategy and sale
Prepare and deliver proposals for new business
Prepare and deliver strategic plans and recommendations
Coordinate and persuasively position contract development and execution
Post-proposal issues resolution
Develop senior level client relationships
Constantly assess competition and their inroads and be able to communicate intelligence gathered to management
Work with Director of New Products to develop new customer solutions, as needed
