Responsibilities: |
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Leadership/Personnel Development
1. Motivates, directs and assists National Account Managers in developing and executing annual business plans.
2. Conducts pre-planning sessions and account calls with National Account managers
3. Mentors and coaches direct reports, develops their selling skills and achieves continuous improvements
4. Increases revenues and sales contribution profits by efficiently managing within markdown budgets
Achieves Sales/Profit Objectives
1. Achieves annual sales, MDF, markdowns and forecasting quota objectives and personal MBOs
2. Maximizes profitable display volume building opportunities at all retailers (check-out and off-shelf)
3. Maximized the distribution of our product line across each brand, consistent with company plan objectives
4. Maintains competitive retail pricing vs. competition as defined by corporate objectives in each category
Customer Relations/Account Development
1. Conducts ongoing business/category reviews with customers key decision makers
2. Proactively learns all aspects of customers go to market requirements and operations and communicates them in a timely manner to develop the most compelling go to market plans for company
3. Works jointly with VP Sales to establish specific business and alignment goals for each account
4. Negotiates effectively with retailers to that company policies and business plans are sees as mutually beneficial
Communications
1. Provides accurate/timely information on retailer personnel and strategy changes, merchandising programs, shipping requirements, etc. to appropriate Sales Department and corporate staff
2. Submits ideas to VP Sales for customer promotions and distribution that return profitable revenues
3. Reports competitive activities and developments with detail/analysis so informed decisions can be made
4. Updates VP Sales about significant problems and achievements for each retailer
Administration/Expense Management
1. Manages/monitors and controls National Accounts expenses/MDF resources to meet budgets
2. Completes standard expense reports on time and accurately and insures expenses are within company guidelines
3. Prepares and submits Monthly revenue and MDF overviews/trade promotion plan calendars; Account promotional analysis within 60 days of event, Quarterly customer business plan and budget updates; monthly industry news times, POS trends and competitive activity

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. A 4-year college degree in Business, Marketing or a related bachelor of science discipline
2. Ten plus years in a HBC/CPG Sales environment with a minimum of seven plus years in roles such as Director, National Accounts, National Sales Management, Key Account Management or HQ Key Account support role in Customer Marketing or Category Management
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Excellent interpersonal skills required to interact with and influence various levels of internal and external customers
2. Possess a comprehensive working knowledge of the distribution channels in the consumer products industry with complete understand of marketing consumer products to our trade customers
3. Good mathematical, analytical and organizational skills
4. Strategic selling fundamentals and experience
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct reports to this position are National Account Managers and Sales and Marketing Agency members
